Sena 2010
Sena 2010
Seña is a single-estate, single-wine operation in the Aconcagua Valley, founded in 1995 by Robert Mondavi and Eduardo Chadwick of Errazuriz. It was one of Chile's first icon wines and is benchmarked against the greatest wines of Bordeaux and the top Super Tuscans, often winning top spots in blind tastings.
Seña is an authentic chilean blend made from the finest cabernet sauvignon, carmenere, merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot varieties. The carmenere variety adds an evident chilean personality to the wine. Guided by intuition and backed by family heritage, Eduardo Chadwick and Robert Mondavi handcrafted a wine of distinctive quality and character. Seña is the culmination oaf their wonderful parternship and a passionate journey. Chadwick and Mondavi searched for four long years before finding the ideal chilean terroir in valle de aconcagua. There, they acquired 350 hectares of virgin hillside land. The grapes for our Seña 2010 came from our Seña hillside vineyard, located in the Valle de Aconcagua, 41 km from the Pacic Ocean.
Tasting Notes
Deep violet-ruby-red in colour with nearly black tints, on the nose Seña 2010 offers fresh red and black fruit such as raspberries, cherries, blackberries, and blueberries, followed by notes of tobacco and cedar, along with a light spicy, floral touch. Equally complex on the palate, its flavours mingle with its firm structure and fine tannins that, in concert with its good acidity, presage a beautiful evolution in the bottle.
