The Palacios Remondo Estate and vineyards are located at high elevations in the eastern part of the region: Rioja Oriental. Historically, Grenache is the dominant red grape in Rioja Oriental, while Tempranillo and the white grape Viura play supporting roles. Since Palacios took over the family winery, his vision for this part of Rioja can be summed in two words: Garnacha and elevation.  Alvaro’s passion for staying true to the tradition of the land inspires him to focus on Grenache-driven wines that are expressive and authentic to the Eastern Rioja region. Propiedad, as with La Montesa and La Vendimia are among the very finest of Rioja Oriental, full-bodied wines with aromas of Mediterranean herbs, cherries and nectarines, and flavors of mixed berries and blood oranges on the palate.

The only white wine made by famed Spanish winemaker Alvaro Palacios, Plácet Valtomelloso is limited-production, estate-grown wine made from the indigenous Spanish white grape variety, Viura. Fruit and white flower refinement! The vineyards in the Valtomelloso area of Rioja champion the know-how and tradition of Rioja whites. Pure dynamism, maturity and class. 

Tasting Notes

It has moderate alcohol and very good acidity in a more Atlantic vintage in a Mediterranean place. The wine is fresh and vibrant, elegant and balanced, tasty with a combination of white fruit, flowers and herbs.

This white wine can be paired with meats and rich pasta dishes. Try it with a creamy risotto or paella!
