Franck Massard Bellesa Perfecta 2017
Franck Massard Bellesa Perfecta 2017
Top sommelier-turned-winemaker, Mr. Massard is shaking up the little-known region of Montsant. Using modern winemaking methods, Franck's taking this wine region into a new stratosphere of quality.
This wine was handcrafted to reflect the essence of Priorat. This small but renowned red winemaking region located just south of Barcelona produces bold red wines. Priorat is a tiny mountainous region, rugged and dry, pretty much unsuitable for any other crop, except for wine grapes and olive.
Tasting Notes
Full-bodied and brimming with jammy fruit, texture from tannins (the stuff in grape skins and seed) and hints of smoke and spice (all the good stuff), these wines have everything.
Food Pairing
It is wine of great definition that would match superbly with a gratin of cep mushrooms with melted blue-cheese and pine nuts but also will do very well too with Roasted rack of lamb with a garnish of baked egg-plant, zucchini, tomatoes and Mediterranean herbs. Other few favorite dishes are robust butifarra sausages, a hearty veal and mushroom dish called fricandó, and roasted vegetables served with the tangy romesco sauce.
