It’s not just Ableforth’s that like experimenting with aged gin. There is a lab in the west where some madcap individuals dare to do what other distillers won’t: double-barrelled gin.

For this batch, the classic Cotswolds Distillery London Dry Gin is aged in ex-bourbon and ex-red wine casks - the same barrels that the distillery uses for their malt whisky.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Fruity, woody, and resinous. Intriguing, with a great ability to draw you into the glass.

Taste: Zesty and spiced woody notes - rather vivacious! Rich fruity notes of plum and grape, with cinnamon sugar towards the end.

Finish: Long and lingering; a lovely balance of juniper and black pepper.
