Chateau Pedesclaux 2018
Chateau Pedesclaux 2018
One of Pauillac’s less well-known estates, Château Pédesclaux is well situated in front of Mouton Rothschild and Pontet-Canet. The property’s history dates back to the early 19th century when Urbain Pédesclaux a renowned trader on the Bordeaux marketplace acquired some vineyards put up for sale following the Revolution, and established the estate in 1810. When the wines of the region were classified in 1855, Pédesclaux was granted the title of Fifth Growth.
Pédesclaux has the complexity that reflects the terroir it springs from. On this mosaic of soils, the clays convey power while the gravels express pure elegance. Pédesclaux embodies the depth that is the quintessence of Pauillac, balanced by a unique sensuality. With each vintage, the painstaking work on these excellent plots pays off, while the revolutionary equipment in the winery enables the wine to develop its own unique personality.
Tasting Notes
Château Pédesclaux 2018 made up of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, presents a very beautiful intense garnet red color. Very powerful, the aromatic bouquet reveals beautiful notes of black fruits, elegant notes of citrus fruits and spices, punctuated by delicate floral notes reminiscent of violet. The palate seduces with its richness and smooth texture, structured by round and silky tannins. The cru retains great freshness and liveliness on the palate, stretching into a salivating finish of great elegance. A perfectly executed vintage for Château Pédesclaux which heralds the birth of a great year.
