Château Citran 2018
Château Citran 2018
Powerful, gourmet and structured, Château Citran offers the experience of a red Grand Vin of Haut-Médoc in what was a beautiful vintage for Bordeaux. Located on the left bank of Bordeaux, in the Haut-Médoc appellation, Château Citran looks over a vineyard of 100 hectares, planted on gravelly-sandy soil upon asteroid limestones and clay-limestone soils.
For this 2018 vintage, the harvest began on September 19 with the Merlot and ended on October 12 with the Cabernet Sauvignon. Guided by the advice of talented oenologist Éric Boissenot, the Château Citran 2018 is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (39%), Merlot (50%) and Cabernet Franc (11%).
Tasting Notes
At the tasting, the Château Citran 2018 presents a ruby color, with brilliant violet reflections. Intense and complex, the nose opens with notes of red and black berries, bearing the unique imprint of each grape variety in the blend. On the palate, the wine unfolds a generous and juicy material, with a beautiful structure. The harmonious palate stretches into a long, persistent finish.
