A 30 year old Auchentoshan, independently bottled by Douglas Laing for its Xtra Old Particular range (reserved for rather special expressions). This one was distilled back in November 1990 and allowed to mature for three decades in a single refill hogshead. After that lengthy slumber, the whisky was bottled in December 2020, with a small outturn of only 298 bottles.

Tasting Notes

On the nose anticipate hard candy giving way to more vanilla's barley character. The palate is really thick and creamy with toasted oak, candied nuts and ripe green fruits. The finish lingers long and deliciously with pineapple chunks, golden syrup and a creamy porridge style.
